PARTITIONS
Partition Wall can be constructed as a load-bearing wall or non-load bearing wall. The load-bearing partition wall is known as the internal wall. These internal walls do not carry any weight. Sometimes partition wall may be folded, collapsible, or fixed type. Partition walls or walls can be constructed in various shapes like – thin, light, or thick, heavy, etc. Mainly, these walls’ requirements are based on building materials and design.
A PARTITION WALL is a separation wall constructed of bricks , studding , glass or other such materials and utilized to divide a larger space into smaller spaces.
The partition wall is commonly used in warehouses , offices , commercial buildings , etc. These walls are also used in residential buildings to divide bigger rooms or spaces into smaller ones so that every space is utilized efficiently. MAIN PURPOSE OF PARTITION WALL
TYPES OF PARTITIONS
HOLLOW AND CLAY BRICK PARTITION WALL
Hollow concrete block partitions are designed for individual units of concrete. Clay blocks used are well ready from clay or earthenware, and they are either solids or hollow. Hollow clay blocks of section 30*20 cm with thicknesses varied from five cm to 15 cm can even be used. The blocks are supplied with grooves on the prime, bottom, and sides, surfaces are kept glazed in several colors. They do not modify their volume and are lighter in weight. These varieties of walls are lightweight, rigid, economical, durable, and fireplace resistant
THESE ARE BUILT OF INDIVIDUAL UNITS OF CONCRETE. CLAY BLOKS ARE USED WELL PREPARED FROM CLAY OR TERRACOTTA. THE BLOCKS ARE PROVIDED WITH GROOVES ON THE TOP, BOTTOM AND SIDES
CONCRETE PARTITION WALLS
The concrete partition wall consists of a concrete slab, plain or reinforced, supported laterally by vertical members. These slabs may be either precast or cast in situ. It may be either formed or solid unmoved. Unique concrete posts are used for the development of constructed concrete partition walls solid in place walls, 10 cm thick and below, their social control consists of soft–cast steel bars placed within the center of the wall thickness. The concrete combines 1:2:4. It helps in resisting horizontal loads like earthquakes to a great extent. Even though it is rigid and stable both in vertical and horizontal directions, the framework is Costly.
GLASS PARTITION WALL
When glass panels are used to divide up a larger room or area, this is called glass partitioning. The panels can be mounted on a framework or attached to a wall and can provide a range of benefits, such as increased natural light, improved design and function, better privacy, and noise control.
Partition glass walls are a popular way for homes and offices to divide their space into areas that can be used for different things. From providing privacy and soundproofing to creating a stylish and modern atmosphere, partition glass walls offer a range of benefits that make them an attractive option for any space.
TYPES OF GLASS PARTITIONS

Clear glass is a popular choice for patition glass walls due to its transparency. It is made of tempered glass and allows natural light to pass through while dividing spaces, creating a clear line of demarcation between separate areas. Clear glass is often used in homes to create separate rooms with a larger living space or to turn a portion of the living room into a home office, toy room , or sny other designated area. Clear glass walls can be used in an office to give employees their own space while still keeping the space open and encouraging collaboration
Gypsum board is majorly utilized as surface material and its uses are important in wall and ceiling preparations. The board has higher features like Fire resistance, soundproof and light weight. It is used as drywall. It is the best construction material for wall, ceiling, and partition walls in residential and commercial spaces
PATTERNED GLASS PARTITION
Patterned glass is a versatile option for glass walls that can be used to separate rooms while still letting in natural light. It comes in a variety of subtle or bold designs that add texture and character to the glass. This is best suited for homes, offices, and other commercial spaces to create private designated areas.
ACOUSTIC GLASS PARTITION
Soundproofing is highly beneficial for office spaces since it allows busy environments to continue without disrupting quiet ones. Acoustic separators, often known as sound absorbtion panels, also provide soundproofing. They are a fantastic option for settings that demand the least amount of noise interference
LAMINATED GLASS PARTITION
The ideal option is a laminated one if security is top priority. It is frequently used for walls and dividers in high-security, commercial and police enforcement vehicles. while being clear, laminated type improves safety for people driving & working & living anywhere. The additional plastic layer, which can be coloured or transparent, aids in soundproofing
FIRE RESISTANCE GLASS PARTITION
This is carefully intended to prevent the spread of flames and smoke and to transfer radiant and conductive heat, depending on the product makeup. It is frequently cut into sheets, framed and link provide a versatile and beautiful shield for fire places and restaurant kitchen dividers.
DECORATIVE GLASS PARTITION
This type is available in common colours as blue , green, brown, bronze and grey. These are formed when a coating of metal oxide is applied to them. The tinted surface reduces heat transfer by limiting the intensity of sunlight that enters the residence from the outside. It also protects against damaging UV rays, preventing fading of upholstery and other textiles.
METAL LATH PARTITION WALL
Metal lath partition walls are lightweight, strong, durable, thin, and easy to construct partition wall. It was fixed in steel or timber framework configuration.
It will be plaster on both side and may be improved the heat and sound insulation of wall. These walls are constructed by placing 2cm or 2.5 cm channels vertically and fixing metal lath to it on one side. If hollow partition is required, metal lath is fixed to the channels on both the sides and then plaster is applied.
Metal is a good partition material. Out of all, mild steel is mostly used for this purpose. Metal laths are used with steel or timber framework for fixing in position. Plastering is required after fixing the metal lath.
The thickness of this type of partition is 50 mm. Patented steel lath, commonly known as hyrib is also useful material for making partition walls. For better thermal and sound insulation cavity can be provided in between metal lath and plaster.
LUMBAR PARTITION WALL
Timber partitions are the wood framework that is supported on the ground below or by sidewalls. The structure consists of a rigid arrangement of timber members, which can be plastered or lined with boarding etc. from each side. It is not noncombustible
ASBESTOS CEMENTED PARTITION WALL
In building removing partitions cork, fibre cement partitions are light weight , waterproof, durable and fire resistant. At building removing partition walls cork, ASBESTOS cement sheets are fixed on the wooden frame. The plates are placed in a vertical position and fixed with cement glue. They are mainly accepted in works of a temporary nature. Partitioning is made with fibre cement slabs or galvanized sheet arranged on a perimeter of wood or steel. Such a board allows the use of a more fire-resistant partition and offers excellent thermal and acoustic insulation properties
